Natalie Wardle, 3rd year photography

The project i’m submitting is an on going one, it’s called personal space. The images display my own experience of being a female and almost mocking femininty with playful performance for the camera. A mix of self portraiture and observation is used within this project, however when the observation is used it almost has been staged to represent myself in the images. Performance is one of the main elements in this project, that its staged and rather neutral looking in a domestic space. This project has recently developed in to short film clips displaying the sounds of females. I thought i’d include one of the videos as I feel like this is my main body of work now and what I'd like to present in the gallery. It’s mocking what femininty has become what for now the new crazy is control pants. The repetition of pinging them makes them incredible silly yet rather painful to see what the female does to get societies idea of the perfect body.
